Assignment 1: Analysing sound from film or TV

You will need to get into pairs
Discuss which Film or TV programme you want to analyse
Then decide on a short 5 minute (max) sequence from that film or TV programme
Details you need to include:
 
For Films:
What year was it released?
Who directed it?
Why have you picked the scene you have?
 
For TV programmes:
What year was it aired
What channel did it go out on?
Why have you picked the scene you have?
You must comment on the following and present your findings to the rest of the group.
pick out the diegetic and non-diegetic sound
Ambient sounds, music?
SFX?
How do you think it was recorded?
What sounds were added in post production
How does the sound set the scene, moods etc
Covers outcome 1 – presentations will be filmed and uploaded to their blogs
